Officialy licensed from The Racers Group - TRG, one of the most well known and winningest teams in professional sports car racing, this office chair was designed to celebrate their historic GT OVERALL win of the 2003 Rolex 24hours at Daytona, 2002 Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona GT class, and their 2002 victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The seat itself is a factory Porsche Sport Seat removed new from a 2009 Porsche 911 at delivery at TRG's motorsports facility in Petaluma, CA. The seat was immediately removed before the car was driven in order to replace with a one piece racing shell, and convert the car into a world class racing machine. The chair has black leather with a silver stitching around the edges and side bolsters with a perforated center base and back center section. The shoulders have an extended support area and overall give a more sporty appearance (besides the extra support). The back and lower trim sections are dark silver metallic finish with polished handles and control pieces. The rear of the seat is a hard plastic material in a dark silver metallic color.
Although the entire chair tilts back from the base, the rear seat back tilt can be set with the connection of the included wall power adapter. There is a small recessed hook at the top back of the seat for hanging a small bag from the back of the chair (perfect for hanging your car keys or a purse).
Each chair we build is unique, the metal base and frame are painted with a professional automotive quality paint job in a deep, high gloss paint. Your order includes the official TRG colors shown here, a two tone baby blue with yellow accent handles and wheels, that matches the winning #66 car. Official sponsor stickers are on the back of the chair along with the #66 car ID numbers which have been signed by the cars driver and team owner, Kevin Bucker.
Your purchase helps support the TRG race program and as a bonus with your purchase, also included is an invitation to come out to a 2009 Grand-Am race and receive a private tour of the teams garage and pit area. Two all access pit passes will be waiting for you at the track and will allow you to stand next to the team in the hot-pits during the race as the team competes in the Grand American Rolex Series. The mechanics of the bases are a Synchro knee-tilter from Global's Ride collection. They are a full metal base and frame with sculpted sport wheels. The smooth synchronous tilting action maintains constant contact and support for your body in all postures. There are sculpted shift levers at the side of the seat to control the synchro tilt mechanism and seat height. The rotating pivot arms are height adjustable.
Racechairs come from actual exotic sports cars and racecars. This specific seat comes from TRG's race facility where factory delivered Porsche's are converted into their famous racecars you see on TV! Once we receive their new seat, it is disassembled, the leather is cleaned and conditioned, the unnecessary hardware is removed and a custom bracket is created to place the seat in the optimal position.
