For thorough back support, the precision backrest adjustment is controlled by the Keiper recliner mechanism that is a patented design. The action is smooth and extremely robust. Your lower back is comforted by the Airmatic® triple chamber, self-equalizing, inflatable lumbar support. Automotive grade leather hides are optically scanned for surface imperfections. Once the imperfect areas are identified, the Gerber computerized cutter is programmed to cut around them. Premium automotive grade leathers are far superior to furniture grade leathers. They are more durable and treated to resist UV rays. The hides are impeccably stitched for well defined contours and outstanding finish quality.
The mirror finish, 5-star cast aluminum base is manufactured by the same company that manufactures aluminum components for Harley-Davidson®. It is rated for 24 hour intensive use. The 29" diameter is the largest that is commercially available.
The mounting bracket that secures the tilt mechanism to the chair is manufactured from 7 gauge cold rolled steel. It is precision laser cut to .0001". It then goes through a 3 stage wash process and finally a baked on powder-coat finish is applied. The heavy duty knee tilt mechanism features self lubricating bearings and has been extensively tested for durability and long life.
Heavy duty armrest support tubes are constructed of 16 gauge, mirror polished 304 stainless steel. The comfortable armrest pads are made of skinned foam for durability and comfort. The height adjustment range is 3.5". The armrests will also adjust for width in a 2" range.

The stretching and ultimate tearing of soft tissues brings about discomfort, pain and eventually long term trauma (that of pressure ulcers and tissue ulceration).
An important facet of the circulatory system is to bring good oxygenated blood to the tissues and organs of the body and remove waste and by-products. By restricting blood flow and even stopping it, necrosis (dying of tissue cells) and the on-set of trauma begins.
Nerve depression sends a signal to our brain that tells us to move or shift our body position because we are experiencing discomfort. This leads to increased friction and shear stress occurring at the skin tissue level.
Using a combination of a low viscosity liquid, contained within a very thin and pliable pouch, and strategically placed baffles (seal points) to control the flow of liquid; perpendicular pressure is equalized across the specific point of contact. By equalizing perpendicular pressure, soft tissue shear stress is significantly reduced, blood flow becomes less restrictive and nerve depression is lessened. As movement and/or shifting of the body takes place, the liquid within the ultra-thin cell moves to allow the opposing forces (body and object) to float or glide with one another, thereby significantly reducing friction and shear stress.
Each LiquiCell membrane is specifically designed and customized to meet the needs of the product application. Thin, light weight and extremely pliable, the LiquiCell membrane is comprised of two urethane membranes sealed around a low viscosity liquid. Seal points control the flow of liquid to equalize pressure and provide a cushiony lubrication at the point of contact on the body.
Will LiquiCell leak or burst?LiquiCell has perfected a manufacturing process to the point where LiquiCell membranes are designed and built to withstand very high load pressures; load points that exceed industry standards. Using an independent laboratory, LiquiCell membranes over and over again, throughout the years, have withstood load pressures that are in excess of the various product needs. Under normal usage and operations LiquiCell will not burst or leak unless the outer skin is physically punctured or degraded.
Is LiquiCell affected by temperature?No. LiquiCell tends to ambient temperature, and in fact the viscosity of the fluid changes very little between -40°F and +300°F.
